Based in Oklahoma City, Ascent Resources is a private exploration and production company established to acquire, explore for, develop and produce natural gas, oil and NGL reserves in the Appalachian Basin. Through its subsidiary, Ascent Resources – Utica, the company has grown to become one of the largest privately held exploration and production companies in the U.S. in terms of asset size and net production and the largest oil and natural gas producer in the state of Ohio.
