Multiclient seismic imaging company Spectrum Geo and oilfield services company Schlumberger Ltd. will jointly acquire and process Spectrum’s offshore Mexico Campeche-Yucatan 2-D regional multiclient program, Spectrum said May 19. The companies entered a cooperation agreement.
There are more than 44,000 km of regional 2-D seismic data in the new frontier Campeche/Yucatan area, the company said.
The new 2-D program ties into Spectrum’s Spectrum's Big Wave multiclient program in the northern and eastern areas of the U.S. Gulf of Mexico. The long offset 2-D survey highlights the deepwater area’s complex structures, both presalt and postsalt.
Spectrum Geo is based in Oslo, Norway. Schlumberger Ltd. is based in Houston.
