GDF Suez E&P UK Ltd. and its partners said March 12 that there is a new discovery in the U.K. Central North Sea, on Block 22/16, part of GDF Suez's P.1799 operated license.
The 22/16-6 well on the Dalziel structure flowed at rates in excess of 8 Mboe/d. The well is now being sidetracked to appraise the extent of this discovery.
The Transocean Galaxy II jackup rig drilled the well.
GDF Suez’s partners are RWE Dea UK Sns Ltd., with 25% working interest, JX Nippon Exploration and Production (U.K.) Ltd., with 25% working interest and Total E&P UK Ltd., with 20% working interest. GDF Suez holds a 30% working interest.
