Chicago Bridge and Iron was awarded an engineering contract by BP for the South Caucasus Pipeline Expansion project, which will carry gas from the Stage Two development of the Shah Deniz Field in the Azerbaijan sector of the Caspian Sea. CB&I will provide engineering and project management services for the pipeline under a US $85 million contract, which will support the full field development at Shah Deniz, allowing gas production to be trebled to more than 20 Bcm a year. The South Caucasus Expansion Project will link to the TransAnatolian Pipeline and the Trans Adriatic Pipeline, which includes a 105 km (65.6 mile) underwater section across the Adriatic Sea from Albania to southern Italy, to be installed in water depths of up to 810 m (2,656 ft),
