Blackbird Energy Inc. (TSXV: BBI) announced Feb. 26 it acquired a 100% working interest in 19 additional sections (12,160 net acres) of Elmworth Montney rights in Alberta. The terms of the transaction weren't disclosed.
The acquisition represents a 41% increase in the Calgary, Alberta-based company's Elmworth Montney land position.
With the completion of the acquisition, Blackbird said it now holds a 100% working interest in 65 sections (41,600 net acres) at the company's core Elmworth Montney project. It also now holds a total of 69 sections (44,160 net acres) of Montney rights in the greater Grande Prairie area, including its four northern Grande Prairie sections.
