Service company Aibel received a contract to conduct a FEED study for the Oseberg Future Development Brownfield Topside project from Statoil ASA (STO), Aibel said May 27.
A new, unmanned wellhead platform will be connected to the Oseberg A and Oseberg B platforms. Oseberg A will supply the platform with power, control and chemical injection. The Oseberg Field Center will also be modified—this is relative to the connection of Kappa wells to Oseberg through the Vestflanken pipeline, Aibel added.
Work on the FEED study starts immediately, and will continue until October. An engineering services, procurement, construction and installation contract will begin mid-2015 and continue until year-end 2017.
Up to 29 associates will be involved in the FEED study’s first phase in Aibel's new office in Bergen Norway. If the FEED’s realization phase is implemented, 45 associates will handle 165,000 man hours.
