JC: How are these metal expandable packers utilized in the field and in wells?
NR: These packers enable operators to both mitigate sustained casing pressure, but also save costs and time in remedial operations.
JC: Now, what's the benefit of deploying this technology?
NR: Well, the benefit of this technology is that it's easy to deploy. There's minimal changes to the drilling process, but also they're hydraulically expanded from surface. So there's minimal tools required and minimal processes required, so it's easily integrated into operators’ existing programs.
JC: Where has this been deployed in unconventional plays in North America?
NR: Within North America, certainly in the unconventional plays, this has been a growing solution since 2021. We've deployed them here in the DJ Basin. We've deployed them in the Appalachian Basin, as well as the Permian Basin most recently.
