Schlumberger and IBM offer new hybrid cloud enterprise data management tool for energy sector

Schlumberger and IBM announced the industry’s first commercial hybrid cloud enterprise data management tool for the OSDU Data Platform. The hybrid cloud offering is designed to expand access to customers globally—including those in locations where data residency requirements and local regulations may affect the use of global public cloud—and is engineered to reduce time for analysis and accelerate decision-making, with all workflow data available in one place. This tool will provide energy operators with full interoperability, making their data accessible by any application within their E&P environment through the OSDU common data standard to enable easy sharing of information between teams. This data technology is engineered to minimize the time for data transfers between applications to deliver reduced costs as well as enabling improved decision-making. The collaboration builds on the work between Schlumberger and IBM to leverage the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform for deployment of Schlumberger's DELFI cognitive E&P environment in all regions worldwide. The technology will be offered by Schlumberger; all transition and managed services will be provided by Schlumberger and IBM Services. 

AnTech offers downhole analog pressure gauges designed for long-term reliability

AnTech Ltd., a designer and manufacturer of products and drilling equipment to the upstream oil and gas industry, has released its Metior downhole analog pressure gauge. The tool is targeted at the well dewatering market, which aims to deliver long-term reliability at low cost. The gauge has been developed in-house by AnTech’s engineering team to help address vibration resistance and resistance to various forms of corrosion. Failure rates as high as 1 in 20 gauges have been reported, with microbial induced corrosion also contributing to gauge and tubing failure. To deliver the greater levels of reliability, the development team focused on several key areas including ease of installation, durability and corrosion resistance. The Metior gauge has been designed to withstand the shock and vibration that can be caused by downhole pumps installed nearby. The new tool uses silicon-on sapphire technology for long-term stability and is undergoing testing in accordance with Advanced Well Equipment Standards Recommended Practice for Qualification of Downhole Sensors. This qualification gives a quantifiable standard, normally used for high-profile projects, against which its performance can be predicted and measured.

LiquidFrameworks' new trucking module improves efficiency for dispatcher

LiquidFrameworks, a mobile field operations management solutions company specializing in the energy industry, has developed a new module for the FieldFX product suite, FX Trucking. The FX Trucking module is a fit-for-purpose, segment-specific application that is designed to provide a seamless experience for the dispatcher. FieldFX is a cloud-based, mobile field operations software suite designed to manage contracts, quotes, equipment, jobs, field tickets and invoices, along with customer-specific electronic forms such as safety incidents, inspections and other operational data reports. FieldFX was designed specifically for field personnel to increase usability and, therefore, increase and accelerate the value of the implementations. The FieldFX technology works both online and offline, which is critical for service companies in the energy industry.

LandGate dataset technology reveals mineral deals and leads

LandGate's technology is designed to assist energy companies with oil and gas data and the acquisition of land resource deals. The company has announced new features and data as well as upcoming features currently being developed. New features include getting pre-market listings from landowners ready to close. Users can set up buy criteria and areas of interest, receive exclusive alerts to new listings before they get marketed, and be the first to access actual deals, not just leads, with sellers/lessors ready to close. Users can also get daily emails listing more than 100 hot mineral leads every day (name, phone, email and address). Mineral owners interested in selling or leasing claim ownership on LandGate and enter their property details. LandGate also has developed heat maps based on mineral sale value. Users can instantly identify the most profitable areas for mineral purchases. LandGate also has developed heat maps based on leasehold value, which allows users to instantly identify the most profitable areas for new leasing. Another new feature is the ability to view non-public sales and lease transactions. Users can access private oil and gas mineral transaction prices and details, which include transactions of all sizes and various deal types (working interest, minerals, royalties and leases).

Upcoming features will include an upload shapefile feature available to subscribers to enhance research functionality on LandGate’s website. Any shapefile uploads are kept securely in the user’s confidential profile. Additionally, the LandGate team is developing a feature to automatically add upside wells (future drilling locations) to existing portfolios and the well selection tool.
