Description

Two horizontal Codell discoveries on the northern flank of the Denver-Julesburg Basin were announced by Helis Oil & Gas Co. in Laramie County, Wyo. The #16-63-22-27-6CH McWilliams is in Section 22-16n-63w and it initially pumped 162 bbl of 36-degree-gravity oil, 74 Mcf of gas and 3.009 Mbbl of water per day. Production is from a lateral in Codell extending southward to 17,593 ft, 7,574 ft true vertical. It bottomed in Section 27-16n-63w and was tested after 60-stage fracturing between 7,978 and 17,593 ft. Three miles to the north-northeast in Section 2-16n-63w, #16-63-2-11-1CH Cain flowed 299 bbl of 37-degree-gravity oil, 119 Mcf of gas and 2.244 Mbbl of water per day. Production is from a Codell lateral extending southward to 17,584 ft, 7,567 ft true vertical, with a bottom-hole location 11-16n-63w. It was tested on a 1-in. choke after a 60-stage fracturing between 7,976 and 17,584 ft. Helis is based in New Orleans.
