Drilling Activity Summary

Description

Testing is planned at two recently completed exploration wells, #1-Le Chiffe and #1-Kleeb in the Cooper Basin PEL96 permit area in South Australia. According to operator Strike Energy Ltd., the two wells will evaluate the productivity of Patchawarra coals. Two close-spaced offset wells are planned near #1-Klebb to monitor fracture size and the effects on hydrocarbon and formation water production. In early 2013, #1-Klebb was drilled to 2,193 m and was flow tested. Wireline logs indicated more than a 145 m (net) of coal in the well, with 89 m of coal in Patchawarra, including one continuous 34-m thick seam and two other seams each over 15 m thick. Increased gas readings were recorded at #1-Kleeb, which were consistent with readings in #1-Le Chiffe. Results indicate gas-saturated coals with free gas. Additional testing will determine the reservoir pressure at which gas production commences (the critical desorption pressure), to achieve sustained gas flows to surface, and to obtain data on formation water production volumes. Subsequent multi-well testing centered at #1-Le Chiffre well will focus on well spacing and production optimization. Strike's headquarters are in Paddington, New South Wales.
