Drilling Activity Summary
Description
ConocoPhillips has filed Notices of Staking with the Bureau of Land Management for 10 delineation tests at its Willow development project in the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska. According to IHS Markit, the proposed Willow development includes five drillsite locations in the Bear Tooth Federal Unit (BTU), an on-site Willow central processing facility (WCF) located on the #3BT drillsite, and an infrastructure pad with support facilities. The Bear Tooth drillsites are: #1BT, Section 34-10n-1w; #2BT, Section 11-10n-1w; #3BT sections 28 and 33-9n-1w; #4BT, Section 12-11n-2w; and #5BT, Section 19-8n-1w. Each drillsite would accommodate at least 50 wells at 20-ft wellhead spacing. The company’s 10 Notices of Staking are for the following as-yet unapproved delineation wells — #4 West Willow, Section 19-10n-2w, UMM, Harrison Bay; #2 West Willow, Section 25-11n-3w; #2 ALT West Willow, Section 25-11n-3w; #10 Tinmiaq, Section 9-10n-1w; #11 Tinmiaq, Section 32-9n-1w; #12 Tinmiaq, Section 15-8n-1w; #13 Tinmiaq, Section 35-12n-2w; #14 Tinmiaq, Section 22-9n-1w; #15 Tinmiaq, Section 9-10n-1w and #16 Tinmiaq, Section 8-9n-1w. The Willow accumulation is estimated to 300 MMbbl of recoverable oil in Nanushuk. ConocoPhillips announced the first Willow discovery in 2017 at #2 Tinmiaq in Section 34-10n-1w, and #6 Tinmiaq in Section 10-10n-1w. The #2 Tinmiaq was tested with a sustained 12-hour test rate of 3.2 M bbl of 44-degree-gravity oil per day.
