Drilling Activity Summary

Description

ConocoPhillips, based in Houston, has received drilling permits for two delineation tests associated with its Willow development project in the northeast National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska. The #16 Tinmiaq is planned for Section 8-9n-1w, Umiat Meridian and will be vertically drilled to evaluate Nanushuk oil zones. Within 10 miles to the north-northwest in Section 9-10n-2w, #15 Tinmiaq also will be vertically drilled to evaluate Nanushuk oil zones. The #16 Tinmiaq is about 3.5 miles southwest of the company’s #2 Tinmiaq, which was completed in early 2017 to open Willow Field. It was tested and established good reservoir deliverability with a sustained 12-hour test rate of 3.2 Mbbl of 44-degree-gravity oil per day from Nanushuk. The #15 Tinmiaq is about 3 miles northwest of the company’s #7 Tinmiaq, which was drilled in late 2018 as an appraisal well confirming the Willow discovery. The Willow accumulation, which lies about 28 miles west of the Alpine Central Facility, contains 400-750 MMbbl of recoverable oil in Nanushuk, which has 42-72 ft of net pay in the area.
