Drilling Activity Summary
Description
IHS Markit reported that Houston-based ConocoPhillips has been granted drilling permits for three exploratory tests near its West Willow prospect in the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska on the North Slope. The new ventures are #2 West Willow in Section 25-11n-3w; #4 West Willow in Section 19-10n-2w and #5 West Willow in Section 25-11n-3w. Objectives and target depths were not disclosed, but presumably include Nanushuk oil zones. ConocoPhillips in early 2017 opened Willow Field with the completion of #2 Tinmiaq in Section 34-10n-1w — that well was tested and established good reservoir deliverability with a sustained 12-hour test rate of 3.2 Mbbl of 44-degree-gravity oil per day from Nanushuk.
