Acquired 69,000 net acres in CO DJ Basin, gaining 9 MMcf/ed.

An undisclosed buyer has acquired DJ Basin assets in Yuma County, Colorado, from Rosetta Resources Inc., Houston, (Nasdaq: ROSE) for $55 million.

The DJ Basin assets consist of a majority working interest in approximately 69,000 net acres in Colorado. Production as of year-end 2010 was 9 million cubic feet equivalent per day.

"These sales represent the final step in our strategy shift to an unconventional resource player," says Randy Limbacher, Rosetta chairman, chief executive and president. "The proceeds provide us the option of redeploying considerable amounts of capital to our high-return growth program in the Eagle Ford shale and in the Southern Alberta Basin."
