Blackpool Exploration Ltd., Calgary, (Toronto Venture: BPX) plans to merge with Westbow Energy Inc., Calgary (Toronto Venture: WBW) for 0.46 share of the combined companies per Blackpool share and one share per Westbow share. Blackpool owns producing properties and predominantly low- and medium-risk prospects throughout Alberta, primarily on the Peace River Arch in northwestern Alberta. Westbow is focused on low- to medium-risk prospects in Alberta, southwestern Saskatchewan and northeastern British Columbia, primarily in the Elmworth, Redwater, Sinclair and Fenn West areas. Pro forma, the combined production will be approximately 250 barrels of oil equivalent per day with total assets of approximately C$20 million.
