EnCap Flatrock Midstream said March 21 that Rob Wingo has joined the firm as managing director.
Wingo has more than 16 years of experience in the midstream sector. He joins EnCap Flatrock from Rice Energy and Rice Midstream Partners, where he served for five years in areas of increasing responsibility, most recently as senior vice president of midstream and marketing for Rice Energy, as well as COO and a member of the board of directors for Rice Midstream Partners.
Wingo helped launch the company’s midstream business and led its growth to become one of the largest providers of dry gas gathering and freshwater delivery services in the Marcellus and Utica shales and one of the largest sellers of natural gas in the Appalachian Basin. Prior to Rice, he worked for Copano Energy, where he held positions in operations, engineering, project management, business development and corporate development. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
“We are pleased to welcome Rob to our team,” EnCap Flatrock Midstream Managing Partner Greg King said. “EnCap Flatrock’s business model has always focused on attracting the best people in the industry, and Rob is certainly one of the very best. He brings firsthand knowledge of how to operate and grow a midstream company and create value. He is a tremendous addition to our team and a valuable asset to our portfolio companies.”
“EnCap Flatrock has built a highly successful track record and excellent reputation in the midstream business, and I am humbled and honored to be part of the team,” Wingo said. “I believe EnCap Flatrock’s deep operational, commercial and financial expertise has been crucial to its success, and I look forward to drawing on my experience and relationships to contribute to the growth of the companies in our portfolio.”
