Marc Melnic will be appointed president and chief executive officer of New Sage Energy Corp., while Gregg Vernon, chief operating officer, Alange Energy Corp., was named to the board of directors.
New Sage also announces the resignation of Doug Bartole from the board of directors in order to devote more time to his other business endeavors. John Carlesso, the current president of New Sage, will assume the role of chairman of the board.
Vernon is a professional engineer and is also currently a director of Petrodorado Energy Ltd. and Hemisphere Energy Corp. He was the co-founder of Petro Andina Resources Inc., a public company that was acquired in 2009 by PlusPetrol Resources Corp.
Melnic is a professional engineer with over 16 years of industry experience in senior management roles with several companies, including Vero Energy Inc., Enerplus Resource Fund and PanCanadian Petroleum. He has a master’s degree of business administration from Queen's University.
