Through the unification, the 746 members of NESA will immediately become members ot the Texas Alliance. The merger will push the group's membership to about 4,000.
NESA is based in Houston. It has served the needs of people in the service-and-supply sector of the oil and gas industry for more than 50 years, according to the release.
Texas Alliance will establish an Energy Service Section within the association following the merger.
NESA’s board approved the merger in October and the Alliance board approved it in November at its meeting in Fort Worth, Texas.
Texas Alliance was formed in 2000 with the merger of the North Texas Oil and Gas Association and the West Central Texas Oil and Gas Association, which were organized in the 1930s. The group has offices in Texas in Wichita Falls, Austin and Houston.
