Sunoco Logistics Partners LP announced that Sunoco Pipeline LP will commence a binding open season for its Delaware Basin Extension project. The project will deliver crude oil from the Delaware Basin area in New Mexico and West Texas to Midland, Texas, and will provide Delaware Basin producers new takeaway capacity from the rapidly growing area.
The project will consist of about 125 miles of newbuild pipeline that is anticipated to have initial capacity to transport about 100,000 barrels per day. The Delaware Basin Extension project is scheduled to be operational in the first half of 2016.
The open season will commence on Oct. 15. Subject to the terms of the open season, incentive rates will be available to shippers making long-term volume commitments during the open season.
