Rex Energy Corp. (REXX) detailed an update on Appalachian Basin operations on July 8.
In the Moraine East area, the remaining two wells on the four-well Renick pad were tested, drilled to about 5,900 feet (ft) lateral length and completed in about 39 stages.
During a 24-hour test rate, the wells produced about 9.3 million cubic feet equivalent. Of this amount, there were 4MMcf/d of natural gas, 790bbl/d of NGL and 885bbl/d of condensate. The gas is about 1,300Btu.
"We are very pleased to see continued strong performance from our new wells in the Moraine East and Legacy Butler areas", said Tom Stabley, CEO. "The Renick wells have further de-risked the area while illustrating improved well response as a result of increased laterals and higher sand concentrations."
The two-well Harvey pad in the Legacy Butler Operated Area was placed into sales. The wells were drilled to about 6,000 ft average lateral length and completed in 40 stages. They produced 9.8MMcfe/d during a 24-hour sales rate per well. Of this amount, there were 5.1MMcf/d of natural gas and 849bbl/d of NGL and condensate.
Rex said it will drill its first dry gas Utica well in the Western Lawrence Utica area. The Patterson 2H will be drilled to about 7,000 ft lateral length. Drilling and completions are scheduled for the third quarter of 2015, and the well will be placed into sales in the fourth quarter. Gathering and processing infrastructure for the region’s development is already in place, with about 50MMcf/d of firm transportation.
Stabley said there are already 200 drilling locations in the Western Lawrence Utica.
Rex Energy Corp. is based in State College, Pa.
