Post Oak Energy Capital LP, led a $100 million equity commitment to Crown Oil Partners V LP, the company said April 23.
Funding from the commitment will support Crown’s corporate growth capital, development acceleration and acquisitions, Post Oak added.
Crown's is led by Mike and Brandon Black, the company said, noting that it is the sixth operating industry partnership formed by Mike Black since 1988.
Post Oak has made two other investments with them since 2008, the company said.
"Crown's track record is strong and we have confidence in the company's continuing ability to deliver results," said Post Oak managing director Frost Cochran.
He added, "We are pleased to have the opportunity to work with Mike and Brandon again in the Permian Basin."
Post Oak Energy Capital LP is an energy private investor based in Houston.
Crown Oil Partners V LP, based in Midland, Texas, works in the Permian Basin.
