Rockhopper Exploration has provided more details about the potential phase two development of the Sea Lion discovery in the North Falklands Basin, which could recover another 90?MMbbl of oil from the PL004 license area.
The phase one development is already underway based on recovery of 308 MMbbl from the PL032 license area using a Tension Leg Platform (TLP), for which a project sanction decision is due in the second quarter 2015. (See DI’s “Subsea FEED Starts On Sea Lion” story)
Detailed conceptual development work is scheduled for phase two once a 2015 exploration campaign is completed, Rockhopper indicated in a presentation prepared for its annual general meeting.
