Petrobras finished drilling Well 3-BRSA-1296-SES (ANP nomenclature) in the ultradeepwater Sergipe Basin, the company said April 29.
Test results confirmed two 24 m-thick light oil intervals in good-porosity reservoirs.
The well was drilled to 6.060 m total depth.
The well is 94 km off Aracaju (SE), 10 km from the discovery well, in about 2.9m of water. This depth is a new record for drilling offshore Brazil, the company said.
Well 3-BRSA-1296-SES is the third extension well in the Moita Bonita area, discovered in August 2012, and is part of the Sergipe-Alagoas Basin deepwater exploration project.
Petrobras holds full interest on the block and will proceed with the discovery evaluation plan, Brazil´s Nacional Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels Agency said.
