New Mexico is offering oil and gas leases in an online auction through EnergyNet, which has been retained to exclusively handle the sale.
The New Mexico State Land Office has 22 tracts covering 5,873.11 net mineral acres available for lease. The acreage is located in Chaves, Eddy, Lea, McKinley and Roosevelt counties.
The auction is the state’s first online oil and gas lease sale, according to EnergyNet.
Bidding is now open. Tracts will close beginning at 8:48 a.m. CT (7:48 MT) Sept. 20.
Bidders can register and prequalify for bidding on EnergyNet’s website at any time. Specific instructions and user guides for all government lease sales are available online.
