Jones Energy Inc. (NYSE: JONE) has announced that Jeff Tanner joined the company on September 29, 2014 as senior vice president, Geosciences. Tanner has over 27 years of diverse technical and managerial experience in the oil and gas business. Jonny Jones, founder, chairman, and CEO, said, “We are extremely pleased to have Jeff join the team in this new role for our organization. His experience and technical expertise will help guide the company as we renew our focus on expanding the organic growth opportunities for the company in the Mid-Continent and beyond.”
Prior to joining Jones Energy, Tanner was vice president, Exploration for Southwestern Energy. During his career, he has held a variety of management and technical positions for Laredo Petroleum, Cabot Oil and Gas, and Noble Energy. He began his career with Shell in Houston. He holds a B.S. in Geology from Texas A&M and an M.S. in Geology from the University of Houston.
Jones is based in Austin, Texas.
