James Faroppa was appointed as the chief geoscientist and senior vice president of services at C&C Reservoirs, the company said Jan. 18.
Faroppa has more than 20 years’ experience as an operator, having worked on geological plays and basins around the world.
Most recently, Faroppa was vice president of geosciences for Murphy Oil Corp. (NYSE: MUR), handling assurance, portfolio management, and technical and specialist services. Previously, Faroppa was vice president of sub-Saharan Africa at Kosmos Energy, and also worked for BG Group. At BG, he aided the Brazil presalt discoveries, and ended his time at BG as chief technology officer and chief geophysicist.
Faroppa earned a master’s of business administration degree from Duke University in 2007.
C&C Reservoirs provides software-based reservoir data. It has offices around the world, including in Houston.
