The latest version of its Wonderware® InTouch 2012 human-machine interface (HMI) software was released by Invensys Operations Management.

The software is the primary visualization application of the company’s InFusion® Enterprise Control System. An open and extensible solution, the software enables users to quickly and easily create standardized, reusable HMI and real-time decision support applications that can help maximize their return on engineering, shorten project times and significantly reduce maintenance costs. With its graphics, ease of use, engineering efficiency and support, the software goes beyond the capabilities of an ordinary HMI to help drive real-time business optimization, according to Invensys.

“InTouch 2012 includes many highly requested customer enhancements and performance improvements, including strengthened security; simplified installation and license management; increased operator and engineering productivity and efficiency; and support for the latest remote desktop services and virtualization technologies from Microsoft,” said Gary Nelson, product marketing manager for supervisory and HMI products, Invensys Operations Management.

“Our goal is to simplify workforce empowerment and collaboration with tools and resources to make informed business decisions in real time, furthering the pursuit of business optimization. Additionally, because cyber security is a growing concern, we are committed to offering the most secure HMI on the market. We also offer support for the latest Hyper V virtualization and remote desktop technologies from Microsoft, which enable our customers to reduce their total cost of ownership and improve system reliability with their InTouch applications,” he continued.

“What’s unique with the InTouch 2012 software in combination with the ArchestrA® Integrated Development Environment is that users can design, build and deploy their critical-process visualization systems from anywhere on their network, using reusable templates,” Nelson added.
