Thermostat resins company Hexion Inc.’s oilfield technology group released a new resin-coated proppant that reduces the production of formation water, the company said July 16. AquaBond proppant is available in 20/40, 30/50, and 40/70 mesh sizes.
Less formation water lowers wastewater storage and disposal costs.
AquaBond’s Stress Bond technology provides proppant flowback control, reduces proppant fines generation, minimizes proppant embedment and enhanced well production.
Resin-coated proppants maximize fracture flow capacity from the reservoir to the wellbore. They are used in challenging geological formations in unconventional reservoirs.
Hexion Inc. is based in Columbus, Ohio.
