McDermott International Inc. (NYSE: MDR) has been awarded a contract from Hess Corp. (NYSE: HES) for subsea tieback work for the deepwater Penn State Deep Field in the Gulf of Mexico, according to a news release.
The field, which was discovered in 1996, is located in the Garden Banks 216 block in about 1,500 ft of water. Production began in 1999.
McDermott said the lump sum contract will be reflected in its first-quarter 2017 backlog.
