Halliburton Co. (NYSE: HAL) released its RezConnect Well Testing System, which provides wireless control solutions for downhole drillstem test tools (DST), the company said March 20, noting that it also provides real-time measurements and analysis of well test data.
The RezConnect Well Testing System uses the company’s DynaLink Telemetry System, a wireless downhole sensor and actuator network that uses acoustic energy in tubing strings, Halliburton said.
RezConnect integrates all DST tools, provides their acoustic control and shows their operational status aboveground, Halliburton added.
“These capabilities enable immediate and accurate decisions to be made during well testing operations, ensuring operators can more efficiently achieve their intended well test objectives with less rig time compared to conventional testing methods,” said Abdalla Awara, vice president of Halliburton’s Testing and Subsea business line.
RezConnect was used during a recent deepwater well operation in Latin America, Halliburton said, adding that its bi-directional acoustic commands operated downhole test tools and fluid samplers across the subsea safety system, and noting that overall, using RezConnect saved five days of rig time.
Halliburton Co. is a multinational oilfield services company based in Houston.
