McDermott International Inc. was awarded a sizeable manifold and subsea safety isolation valve module fabrication contract by FMC Technologies for the Jangkrik fields located offshore Kalimantan, Indonesia, McDermott said in a March 3 statement. The contract was included in McDermott’s fourth quarter backlog and is expected to be completed by first-quarter 2016.
This is the first time FMC Technologies awarded work to McDermott’s Asia Pacific region, the statement said. The scope of the project includes fabrication of about 3,200 tons of subsea manifolds and subsea safety isolation valve modules to be installed in water depths ranging from approximately 329 feet (ft) to 1,640 ft. Fabrication began in February at McDermott’s Batam Island facility in Indonesia. The facility will also be responsible for factory acceptance testing and system integration testing.
The Jangkrik Complex is operated by Eni and comprises two main fields—Jangkrik Main, located about 44 miles from the coast in the Muara Bakau permit area, along the Makassar Strait, and Jangkrik Northeast, about 16 miles from Jangkrik Main.
