Eureka Hunter Pipeline LLC, a subsidiary of Magnum Hunter Resources Corp. (NYSE: MHR), appointed Christopher T. Akers as its executive vice president and COO, effective April 8, the company said March 24.
Akers has more than 25 years’ experience in pipeline operations, engineering, project management and construction in Appalachia’s midstream industry, the company said.
Prior to joining Magnum Hunter, he was vice president of Millwood, W.Va.-based Team Environmental LLC since 2013, the company said, noting that Akers also had been vice president of operations, as well as director of gas control and commercial groups, at Pittsburgh, Pa.-based EQT Corp. (NYSE: EQT) from 2001-2013.
Akers holds a bachelor’s of science in mechanical engineering from West Virginia Institute of Technology and an MBA from West Virginia Weslayan College, the company said.
He has served on the board of the West Virginia Oil and Natural Gas Association, the company added.
Gary C. Evans, chairman and CEO of Magnum Hunter, commented that Akers’ hiring fulfilled a year-long hiring search. He also commented that Eureka Hunter Pipeline is expanding its operations scope, and that the pipeline system is now more than 100 miles long and producing 200 million cubic feet per day (MMcf/d).
Houston-based Magnum Hunter Resources Corp. acquires, develops and produces oil and natural gas throughout the U.S.
