Law firm Mayer Brown advised EE3 LLC on the sale of Niobrara shale oil assets in the North Park Basin to SandRidge Energy Inc. (SD), the firm said Dec. 16. The purchase price was about $190 million in cash.
SandRidge received 136,000 largely contiguous net acres and multiyear Niobrara shale drilling inventory in the basin, located in Jackson County, Colo.
The privately negotiated sale, announced Nov. 4 by SandRidge, is one of the few large oil and gas property sales to close in 2015.
The Houston-based Mayer Brown team included Dallas Parker and Jeff Dobbs, corporate and securities partners; associate John Furlow and Edward Osterberg Jr., a tax transactions and consulting partner.
