Sanchez Energy Corp. (SN) said Oct. 2 it has appointed Eduardo Sanchez as president of Sanchez Energy.
Eduardo Sanchez will provide operations oversight and will direct the execution of the Houston-based company's business plans. He has more than 15 years of experience in the E&P industry and has served as president and CEO of Sanchez Resources LLC since 2010.
Sanchez Resources is a privately held oil and gas exploration company and an affiliate of Sanchez Energy.
Prior to his work at Sanchez Resources, he worked at Commonwealth Associates Inc. focusing on private equity and debt placements in small and mid-cap businesses including those in the energy sector. Sanchez serves on the board of Cristo Rey Jesuit and the Good Samaritan Foundation among other charitable causes in the Houston area.
He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from Babson College and his MBA from Columbia Business School.
Sanchez Energy is focused on unconventional resources in the Eagle Ford Shale in South Texas, where it has about 223,000 net acres, and the Tuscaloosa Marine Shale. The appointment is effective Oct. 1.
