U.K. independent Premier Oil is in talks over sourcing a deepwater rig for a new South Atlantic exploration program due to start in 2015, with a deal to be finalised shortly.
In an interim statement the company said it was talking to a rig company, joint venture partners and other operators over the way forward for a 2015 exploration campaign, and signalled that a contract and a rig-sharing agreement is expected to be signed soon.
Drilling is due to start in second-quarter 2015 and will involve up to four wells in Premier-operated acreage, three on the PL004 license area and one on PL032 in the North Falklands Basin, which covers the Sea Lion Field area.
