Chesapeake Energy Corp. (NYSE: CHK) has appointed Mark A. Edmunds to the board of directors, the company said Aug. 17.
Edmunds will serve as a member of the Audit Committee and the Compensation Committee and will stand for re-election at the 2019 annual meeting of shareholders.
“With 37 years of experience with Deloitte LLP, and as the recent global leader of a major energy client and Asia-Pacific energy practice leader, Mark brings international financial, audit and tax expertise that will complement our deep, experienced board,” Chesapeake Chairman R. Brad Martin said.
Edmunds is currently a senior partner and vice chairman at Deloitte and has served on its board of directors, including its Global and Elected Leader Succession Committees. He previously led the Americas Oil and Gas practice. Edmunds joined Deloitte in 1981 and is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
