Geoscience data provider CGG said Feb. 9 that the final processed time volumes (Orthorhombic Kirchhoff PreSTM) from its recent Hobo 3-D multiclient survey in the Midland Basin are now available for license.
A full reservoir optimization package including petrophysics, quantitative interpretation, RoqScan™ quantitative mineralogy, and geochemistry and geomechanics will be available in July.
This project in Howard County, Texas, delivers 342 square miles (sq miles) of wide-azimuth seismic data with ultra-low-frequency content down to 3 hertz for optimal reservoir characterization.
Luc Schlumberger, the executive vice president of multiclient and new ventures at CGG, said the Hobo project builds on its 3-D multiclient Permian coverage, which already includes the Avalon, Tunstill and Dixieland surveys, and is being extended further with the ongoing, new, 293-sq-mile Gypsy survey next to Hobo.
