Centurion Terminals LLC can begin constructing the first phase of the Delaware Basin Express condensate system because it secured an anchor shipper for transportation and processing of high Reid vapor pressure Delaware Basin condensate, the company said Oct. 12.
Delaware Basin Express will carry condensate and crude oil to the Texas Gulf Coast and will connect the Permian Basin through the Eagle Ford Basin.
Centurion owns storage, pipeline infrastructure and transloading terminals in the Delaware Basin and at the Port of Brownsville, Texas.
Construction has begun on Phase 1 of 2 of the Delaware Basin Express. Phase 1 will initiate from Centurion’s Orla Terminal and connect to Centurion’s Pecos Terminal via a 24-inch condensate/crude pipeline with continued service to Centurion’s Brownsville Terminal via rail. Phase 1 is expected to be operational in the third quarter of 2016.
Phase 2 will connect Pecos Terminal to Corpus Christi, Texas, with a storage/connection hub in Three Rivers, Texas, via a 24-inch condensate/crude pipeline. Phase 2 is expected to be operational in the first quarter of 2018.
The 15-acre Orla Terminal is the header facility for the pipeline and has maximum storage capacity of 200,000 barrels.
Centurion Terminals LLC is based in Dallas.
