Matador Resources Co. (NYSE: MTDR) increased the size of its board of directors and appointed William M. Byerley and Joe A. Davis to the board, the company said June 27. Byerley and Davis will both serve on the audit and corporate governance committees on Matador’s board. Byerley retired in June 2014 as a partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers, which he joined in 1976 and where he became a partner in 1988. As an assurance partner for PwC, Byerley served energy and energy-related clients across the industry. He earned a master’s of business administration degree and a bachelor’s degree from Southern Methodist University. Davis was executive vice president, general counsel and secretary of EnLink Midstream LLC and EnLink Midstream Partners LP and their predecessors from 2005 until his retirement in 2014. Before joining EnLink, Davis was a partner and served on the executive committee of the international law firm of Hunton & Williams LLP, specializing in energy and utilities law. He earned a law degree from Baylor Law School and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Dallas. Matador Resources Co. is based in Dallas.
