BP has exercised options with Oceaneering International to keep two vessels offshore Angola on two of its operated deepwater blocks.
The UK major used two one-year options under a field support services contract with Oceaneering for Blocks 18 and 31, through which Oceaneering will continue to supply the vessels Ocean Intervention III and Bourbon Oceanteam 101.
Both are fitted with work-class ROVs supplied by Oceaneering capable of operating in water depths of up to 3,000 m (10,000?ft). The Bourbon Oceanteam 101 has primarily been used as a field support vessel for BP’s Greater Plutonio development in block 18.
The ships will cover a contract scope which includes light subsea construction, and inspection, maintenance, and repair on existing and future subsea infrastructure. Another vessel, Bourbon Evolution 803, is already being provided by Oceaneering under the same service contract, until next January.
