Blackdog Resources, Ltd. has commenced the drilling of its first non-operated horizontal Cardium well in the Pembina area of Alberta on February 7, 2011.
Blackdog has a 15% working interest in the full section of land that the well is being drilled on. The well is scheduled to be drilled to a total depth, including the horizontal leg, of approximately 2,800 metres. The company expects drilling to take about 14 days to complete.
The well logs will subsequently be reviewed for future multistage fracture stimulation and potential future production. The drilling location has been prepared to allow for future wells to be drilled off of the same location as a successful well could lead to a multiple well drilling program.
