Titan Energy Ltd. began commercial production on the initial test well in its multiwell developmental drilling program in Allen Dome in Brazoria County, Texas, the company said May 11.
Titan has planned a five-well program in Allen Dome.
The JT Reese #14 well is currently flowing high gravity oil at 80psi on a 16/64-inch choke. In the first 72 hours of testing, 348 barrels (bbl), equal to 116 bbl/d, the company said.
The well was perforated from 3,932 feet (ft) to 3,942 ft, and about 70 ft of net pay was found by logging this zone, Titan said. This is the first zone, and there are thought to be eight. Openhole and cased hole logging revealed that they are hydrocarbon bearing.
Titan paid 25% of the drilling and completion costs and owns a 50% working interest in JT Reese #14.
The second test well, JT Reese #15, has been drilled to 2,450 ft. The overhang was drilled through, and the well is targeting potential oil zones ranging between 2,600 ft and 4,300 ft in offset wells.
Titan Energy Ltd. is based in West Perth, Western Australia.
