Atmos Energy Corp. (NYSE: ATO) priced a public offering of eight million shares, at 44 cents each, to yield $352 million in proceeds, the company said Feb. 11.
Additionally, an underwriters’ option, to purchase up to 1,200,000 additional shares, was granted to cover overallotments for a month, the company said.
Proceeds will be about $339.3 million, excluding overallotments, the company said, noting that they will repay short term debt under the $950 million commercial paper program. They will also cover infrastructure and general corporate purposes, the company added.
J.P. Morgan, Goldman, Sachs & Co. (NYSE: GS) and Morgan Stanley (NYSE: MS) are joint book-running managers, the company said.
Atmos Energy, based in Dallas, is a natural gas distributor.
