Apache Corp. (APA) reorganized its operating regions and made key changes to leadership, the company said June 1. There are now three new super-regions, with two in North America--the Permian Region and the Houston Region.
Apache's Egypt Region, North Sea Region and Gulf of Mexico Region will form the International and Offshore Region.
The Houston Region will consolidate operational activities for the Eagle Ford, Anadarko Basin, Texas Panhandle and Canadian properties into one region. The Canadian properties will continue to be operated out of the Calgary, Alberta, office.
The Permian Region still includes the Midland Basin and the Central Basin Platform. This region will still operate out of the Midland, Texas, office. The Delaware Basin’s management will be in San Antonio.
Opening the Houston region resulted in the closure of the Tulsa, Okla., office. Many Tulsa employees were relocated, and Apache said this will consolidate employee expertise in a single office location.
The company recently repositioned its portfolio, emphasizing growth in North America and free cash flow generation in Egypt and the North Sea, after A&D transactions over the past five years. A more integrated super-region structure will reduce redundancies and increase operational efficiency, the company said.
Regarding senior leadership, Timothy J. Sullivan was appointed as senior vice president-operations support, a new role based in Houston. He will support the CEO in operational strategy, capital allocation, market intelligence and marketing.
Thomas E. Voytovich will become executive vice president- International and Offshore Region and E&P technology. Voytovich currently manages operations in Egypt, the North Sea and the Gulf of Mexico. He will also oversee the E&P technology and engineering technology service teams. Voytovich will remain in Houston at company headquarters.
James L. House will be senior region vice president- Houston Region, a new position.
Grady L. Ables will be region vice president Canada Region and president, Apache Canada. Ables will be based in the Calgary, Alberta, office.
Faron J. Thibodeaux will continue to oversee Midland Basin and Central Basin Platform operations as the senior region vice president- Permian Region. Thibodeaux will be based in the Midland, Texas, office.
Steven J. Keenan will oversee the North American unconventional resources technology team, unconventional resources new ventures team and Delaware Basin operations as the senior region vice president- Delaware Basin. Keenan will remain at the San Antonio office.
Cory L. Loegering will become region vice president- U.K. Region and managing director, Apache North Sea. Loegering will take on the role after House relocates to Houston. Loegering will be based in the Aberdeen, Scotland, office and continue to report to Voytovich.
Thomas M. Maher will still oversee the company's Egypt operations as the region vice president- Egypt Region. He will also be general manager, Apache Egypt. He will be based in the Cairo office.
The organizational changes will not impact the reporting of production in the quarterly supplement.
