Apache Corp. (NYSE: APA) appointed Stephen Riney as executive vice president and CFO, the company said Jan. 22. He will begin the roles in February, the company added.
Riney has more than 30 years’ experience in finance and accounting. Prior to joining Apache, he worked at BP Plc (NYSE: BP) after the 1998 Amoco merger. Most recently, he was CFO for BP Exploration & Production Inc., Apache added. Prior to joining BP, Riney worked for Amoco for nine years.
"We are very excited to welcome Steve to the Apache executive team. He brings decades of experience and thoughtful leadership to Apache. His background in the upstream business complements both our operations and long-term growth objectives," said John J. Christmann IV, CEO and president.

Riney holds a master of business administration degree from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business and a bachelor of business administration degree from the University of Notre Dame.
