AnTech Limited, a directional drilling and design engineering services company serving the upstream oil and gas industries, announced that in an effort to meet demand for new systems to continuously monitor pressure and temperature in permanent completions, it has expanded its already extensive Wellhead Outlet range.
A Wellhead Outlet connects the downhole cable to the surface telemetry system, and is attached to the wellhead to provide a safe connection between the cables and seal against downhole pressure. The configuration ensures that the integrity of the wellhead is maintained, even if the downhole cable is flooded.
To provide round-the-clock monitoring of downhole conditions, every electrical Wellhead Outlet from AnTech is ATEX- and IECEx-certified, and designed to ensure that both the integrity of the well and the electrical connections are maintained. In keeping with the industry’s increased use of fibre optics, AnTech introduced its first fibre optic option in 2011. The company is now finalising its new fibre optic wellhead outlets that are designed to meet higher wellsite ratings and criteria, such as 15kpsi pressure and in some cases up to 204°C. They are suitable for multiple fibres in single mode and multi-mode.
In addition, AnTech introduces the new lightweight, compact electrical Wellhead Outlet especially for standard smaller NPT wellhead connections, and the hydraulic outlet, which was developed for use in high pressure – high temperature wells. As a result of these new offerings, AnTech now provides Wellhead Outlets for every type of conductor - single, dual and triple – and for any type of seal.
To offer maximum flexibility, AnTech is developing the hybrid wellhead outlet. It will be available in three combinations: a) fibre and electric, b) fibre and hydraulic, and c) electric and hydraulic. By doing so, operators are now able to monitor essential conditions, regardless of the type of connections in use.
AnTech developed the new systems in direct response to requests for a wider range of wellhead outlets, particularly from operators and service companies operating in the North Sea, Gulf of Mexico and Far East.
