Ameriwest Energy Corp., Casper, Wyo., (OTCBB: AWEC) says it plans to spud the Ameriwest Fee #1 well at its Geary prospect in the Powder River basin in mid-March
Ameriwest Fee #1 is near two wells in the Geary Dome field with cumulative production to date of 323,617 barrels of oil and 29.5 million cubic feet of gas, and within half a mile of the Weststar Keenan Fee 16-27 well, with cumulative production of 166,757 barrels of oil to date.
The company says the area could contain possible reserves of approximately 3 million barrels of oil.
Ameriwest president Walter Merschat says, "We are extremely excited about drilling the Ameriwest Fee #1 well in such close proximity to known production. Upon a successful discovery, Ameriwest will immediately implement its proposed development plan which could include up to 17 additional wells."
