William E. Albrecht was appointed to the board of directors at Halliburton Co., effective July 12, the company said July 14.
Currently, Albrecht is non-executive chairman of the board at California Resources Corp. Albrecht was executive chairman of California Resources from 2014 to 2016, and is also currently on the board of The Rowan Cos.
Houston-based Halliburton said he will stand for reelection by stockholders at the company’s annual meeting in May 2017.
Albrecht has more than 35 years’ experience in the domestic oil and gas industry. Previously, he was vice president of Occidental Petroleum Corp. (NYSE: OXY) from 2008 to 2014, and was president of Oxy Oil & Gas-Americas from 2012 to 2014. He also was president of Oxy Oil & Gas-USA from 2008 to 2012.
Albrecht earned a bachelor’s degree from the United States Military Academy, and a master’s of science degree from the University of Southern California.
