Hall of Fame

Jordan Soto, Hart Energy Staff: We are here at Hart Energy LIVE’s 50th anniversary, the Hall of Fame event. It's going to be a momentous evening. With us, a momentous person in the energy industry. We have Scott Tinker of Tinker Energy Associates. Thank you so much for being here, Scott.

Scott Tinker, CEO, Tinker Energy Associates: Jordan, it's great to be here with you.

JS: So just a quick question for you. What advice do you have for readers or young people about the energy industry?

ST: Energy underpins everything in the world. It's a remarkable industry and it's a remarkable career. So if you're interested in going into that, it's a great place to be and it's global. It lifts the world from poverty and it maintains healthy economies, and there's nothing more important than that.

JS: As we're looking at the energy industry, and we're looking at the evolution of it, how do you see the future of the industry playing out the balance of fossil fuels and the transition?

ST: Physics wins. Physics always wins in the long run, and that means denser forms of energy for the most part. Now you need mixed portfolios. You have to have a lot of options and choices. Don't mandate things away. Bad idea. But in the end, hydrogen, natural gas, nuclear drive a lot of the future with a lot of other things mixed into that portfolio.

JS: Well, I think there's a lot of room for all forms of energy.

ST: Absolutely. All forms are important.

JS: This is Hart Energy LIVE's 50th anniversary and Hall of Fame celebration.
