Occidental Petroleum Corp., Los Angeles, (NYSE: OXY) has purchased assets in the Permian Basin from an undisclosed seller for $144 million. The assets are largely gas and will produce some 4,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day, which will be realized in the fourth quarter.
